New Mental Health App Provides Support For Australians

A new mental health app, Supportive Mind, has officially launched as part of a collaboration between global tech leader Infosys and the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA). Designed to improve mental health awareness and offer real-time support, the app gives individuals and mental health first aiders easy access to wellbeing tools at their fingertips.

What is the Supportive Mind app?

The app has been developed by Infosys as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to use digital innovation to support community wellbeing. With a user-friendly interface and data-driven insights, Supportive Mind offers self-help tools that encourage proactive mental health care in everyday life.

With mental health continuing to be a major challenge for Australians balancing work, study, and family life, the app is geared toward making wellbeing support more accessible. Features include mood tracking, daily wellness tips, self-care tools, walking challenges, fundraising opportunities, and personalised activity suggestions. The best bit? it’s all accessible via smartphone.

Developing a scalable solution for supporting mental health

Supportive Mind will initially roll out in selected pilot programs across the education, corporate, and community sectors. Powered by Infosys Topaz, the company’s advanced generative AI platform, the app will also collect anonymous data to help understand and improve its impact on community mental health.

Professor Melissa Green is Chairperson of the Mental Health Foundation Australia, “We are thrilled to introduce Supportive Mind to the public in collaboration with Infosys. This app showcases our commitment to improving physical and mental health through innovative solutions. With Supportive Mind, users can easily incorporate well-being activities into their daily lives, helping them achieve a healthier, happier lifestyle,” says Melissa.

“At Infosys, our purpose is to amplify human potential and create opportunities for people to thrive. We understand the critical role mental health awareness plays in building inclusive, supportive communities. Our collaboration with MHFA to develop a scalable digital solution underscores our commitment to leveraging innovation to make mental health support accessible to everyone, wherever they live or work. We are excited to see this initiative drive meaningful change for individuals and communities alike.” says Andrew Groth, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific, Infosys.

The role of fitness professionals in mental health

Fitness professionals, gym owners, and coaches are increasingly being called on to support the mental wellbeing of their clients. An app like Supportive Mind provides an accessible tool for fitness leaders to recommend or use in their own self-care practices. After all, overall fitness goes so much further than the physical body.
