Gear Up for the Fuel Women’s Fitness Business Summit New Zealand!

The dynamic duo, Alisha Smith and Deb Goldberg, along with their team at Fuel Summit are excited to announce that it is expanding to become a global event, with a two-day experience scheduled for Auckland, New Zealand in 2024. The highly anticipated Fuel Women’s Fitness Business Summit New Zealand is the next step forward from three hugely successful, annual events held in Sydney.

When is the Fuel Women's Fitness Business Summit New Zealand?

With a 2024 theme of “Make Way”, Fuel Auckland offers two unique experiences on each of the days. Day 1 “Firestarter” will be held at the luxury venue, Cocoon House on 22nd February 2024. In a more intimate setting, Firestarter attendees will work through four personal development sessions, with the opportunity to connect with fitness industry virtuosos, Emma Barry and Susan Renata.

Day 2 Fuel Summit will be a much larger all-day affair at the stunning Hilton on 23rd February 2024. There is a great deal of excitement around the event, with previous Sydney-held summits receiving an overwhelming response and selling out weeks before taking place.

“We’ve got some exceptional talent lined up to present a combination of strategic, tactical, and personal development skills,” said Smith, “These women such as activist, Puna Wano-Bryant; women’s health and fitness advocate Tracy Minnoch-Nuku; and global industry stalwart, Emma Barry, all know the industry inside and out, and are powerful advocates for the development of women.”

What to expect at Fuel Auckland 2024?

Attendees can choose to register for either Day 1 Firestarter, Day 2 Fuel Summit, or both days. Firestarter offers an impactful group coaching experience that focuses on leadership and professional strategy. With only 35 spots available, this is a unique and exclusive personal development opportunity.

The Day 2 Fuel Summit NZ will feature seven diverse sessions designed to inspire attendees to “Make Way” for new opportunities and progress. It’s also a fabulous networking experience for both those who have been in the fitness business for decades right through to those just entering the industry. Participants can start building connections straight away, with Wellness Activation Partner, Technogym, providing a sunrise yoga session. “Events like this rely on huge support from the industry and one of our first and most supportive partnerships has always been Technogym,” explained Goldberg. “It’s a brand we’re proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with and we’re thrilled to continue that long relationship by partnering with Technogym NZ.”

Olivia Sheppard, Senior Marketing Manager for Technogym in New Zealand, expressed the company’s enthusiasm, stating, “Technogym is thrilled to be the Wellness Activation Partner for Fuel’s first-ever New Zealand summit. Technogym wholeheartedly aligns with Fuel in fostering an environment for women to lead, grow, and excel in business. We’re proud to stand behind Fuel and all the wonderful female delegates attending this exciting new summit in Tāmaki Makaurau!”

Role models for women in the fitness industry

In an industry where senior executive roles are predominantly held by men, it’s important for there to be visible role models for women who have aspirations to grow their careers. Smith says, “Fuel shines the spotlight on incredible women who have built successful businesses, are leading high-performing teams, and have become experts in their field. Spending a day or two in an environment that has been curated by women for women––where personal and professional development Is intertwined––reminds us that we can do hard things, new things, magical things if only we dare to try.”
Following several ‘think tanks’ hosted by Fuel that cover topics surrounding women in leadership roles, we asked Alisha Smith what some of the big takeaways were.

“The biggest misconception we hear time and again is that you have to have it all figured out. One of my favourite parts of Fuel is getting to hear speakers share that they often had no idea what they were doing when they started a venture or when a big challenge landed in front of them and that sheer tenacity guided them forward. Additionally, there’s a belief that to be taken seriously from a promotability perspective, women need to lead in the same way that men do. It’s not so much a misconception as it is a deeply ingrained belief that’s unfortunately based on anecdotal and evidence-based truth. Fuel is about highlighting the ways women lead differently––successfully but differently––so that more women feel confident advocating for themselves and elevating other women, too.”
