Technogym Sets Pace At Sydney’s Top Hotels

5-star and premium hotels in Sydney have chosen to fit out their new generation gyms with only the world’s best equipment, tailor-made by Italy’s Technogym.

Joining the Langham, Park Hyatt, Pullmann on the Park and Amora Jamison St are the latest converts to Technogym’s offering of style with substance: The Star in its Turbines Health Club, The Darling Hotel in its Darling Gym, Swissotel and Novotel Darling Harbour.

Catherine Lazarou, Spa Manager who oversees both The Star and The Darling in Pyrmont, says there was only one brand that fulfilled all criteria when it came to choosing a fitness partner for its elite facilities.

“I have had experience with the Technogym when I worked in Hotels in Singapore and the impact it had on our guests was overwhelmingly positive. I had many guests go out and buy work-out shoes (that they forgot to pack) just to try out the equipment! Occupying the whole second floor of The Darling Hotel, the spa features a mosaic aromatherapy heated steam room with salt water Jacuzzi, 13 treatment rooms including two couple’s treatment rooms and one Hammam chamber with a heated marble bed, a completely unique offering in Sydney.

The newly-built Darling Gym, designed by Stack Studio, is located on level 2 of The Darling Hotel and is available to hotel and day spa guests. For Catherine, it was imperative to find “the balance between a relaxed resort style area with effective high-tech equipment that would make people at any level of fitness feel welcome”.

“The Technogym ranges are technology-driven so it takes the hard work out of trying to figure out machines. I chose the Technogym Personal Line for The Darling Gym because I want our guests to feel like they are at home and can move from machine without any complications.”

Designed by Antonio Citterio in collaboration with Technogym, the Technogym Personal Line includes RUN, the treadmill; RECLINE, the recumbent bike equipped with an ergonomic backrest; CROSS, the elliptical for smooth motion without impact and KINESIS, a design-concept wall for muscle toning, flexibility and balance.

The Darling will soon add the wellness feature to its hotel rooms, including the Technogym stretching Channel and the facility to order “wellness tools” such as the Wellness Ball, Weights, Rack and more, suitable for in-room exercises.

At The Star Turbines Health Club, Technogym’s exclusive ARTIS® equipment range was first preference, the first integrated collection of cardio, strength and functional equipment.

Created by experts in bio-mechanics, including Loughborough University, a leading research facility in the UK, the ARTIS® equipment range is ahead of its rivals in both in design, biomechanical engineering and interactive technology, while offering cutting-edge sports technology in connectivity, sustainability, design and movement feeling, including a fully integrated platform of interconnected products, services, content and programs that allow Turbines’ staff to manage Wellness lifestyles wherever guests are, both at and away from the Health Club.

The UNITY™ open platform available on cardio equipment also offers guests Wellness on the Go by connecting with them anywhere in world via the mywellness® key, mobile phones, tablets, smart TV, or PCs.

At the 5-star luxury Swissotel located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, Technogym is in complete synergy with the brand promise of the company. General Manager, Christian Hirt explains that it’s all about providing the best guest experience possible.

“This is the reason why we always partner with market leaders. We chose Technogym because it is a premier world leader in the design of fitness and wellness equipment. Using Technogym allows us to maintain our brand promise of improving our guests’ quality of life through exercise and a healthy diet.”

Swissotel’s Vitality program caters for guests’ health needs by offering a calorie controlled menu available in all hotels, as well as providing the opportunity for guests to exercise in the privacy of their room.

“Technogym offers our guests state-of-the-art fitness equipment and technology. The exceptional design and functionality of the Technogym equipment is aligned with our new rooms, designed by leading design firm CHADA. Swissotel Sydney pampers a wide variety of clientele, many of whom utilise the recreation facilities offered by the hotel with the Gymnasium, particularly popular among our corporate guests.”

Ideally located between Darling Harbour and Hyde Park, Swissotel Sydney’s main markets are corporate and leisure guests along with delegates attending conferences and expos in Sydney. The Technogym Personal Line is significant in enhancing guests’ all-round experience while at Swissotel Sydney, says Christian.

“The Technogym Personal Line enhances our guests’ fitness experience by offering a more attractive facility with state-of-the-art equipment. It is a perfect combination of premium design and functionality. In addition, with Welcome Wellness, Technogym provides several tools to accompany the guests’ journey with a full suite of Wellness products, services and solutions that cater to their every need.”
