WNiF Publisher Craig Mac catches up with Claudio Bertozzi, Deputy Country Manager at Technogym Australia.
With a presence in more than 100 countries, Technogym is a world leader in the Fitness and Wellness sector having equipped over 65,000 wellness centres and boasting over 35 million people regularly using their products.
WNIF: What does your day-to-day role entail?
Everything related to Technogym is about delivering a memorable customer experience. For this reason, there’s a lot of coaching and problem solving in my day. When I wake up, my head is already set on the daily agenda and the team achievements for that day. I am then able to focus on the negotiation components that may represent a challenge during that day.
WNIF: How does Technogym position its products to tick all the boxes in today’s competitive environment?
Technogym’s Wellness on the Go strategy and market philosophy is unique. All our products and solutions are linked to the exclusive Mywellness Cloud platform, which represents a specific answer to any Operator and Corporate company dimension. Our value proposition is entirely designed around the results that the end-user can monitor. Motivation, tracking, feedback, medical data, classic fitness, high performance and functional training – all under the Mywellness Cloud platform ultimately link to all the other tracking apps and devices such as My Fitness Pal, Runkeeper, Fitbit or Polar, just to name a few.
WNIF: The last two years has seen a surge in new technology for both personal use and in the commercial space. How do Technogym ensure club owners embrace this changing landscape?
Club owners need to keep moving continually in the digital age. Unity, Technogym’s open Android console available on Excite and ARTIS cardio equipment, is the answer. Unity and Mywellness Cloud are seamlessly integrated so that users can access their own personal content, favourite apps and training programs even in the gym.
At the same time, Operators have now access to the most advanced business solution available in the market: from the setup of interactive challenges to keep members engaged and motivated (Technogym’s “Let’s Move for a Better World” is the most blatant example on a global scale!) to bespoke marketing promotion (the Communicator app) or real-time monitoring of equipment status (Asset app).
WNIF: Innovation and design are synonymous with the Technogym brand. What makes Technogym the right solution for businesses?
At Technogym, research and design represent the key drivers behind the development of products and services. We always keep the needs of the end-user in mind. Every single detail is important in offering the best experience, this is why we have a team of more than 200 people made of industrial designers, engineers, physiotherapists and doctors who work every day in creating the wellness product of the future. Technogym is the only certified “greenest” company in the world fitness industry. Our ARTIS line, design and component, have create a seamless Ecosystem. We are the only company able to provide a Total Wellness Solution made of not only equipment but also, apps, devices and contents, interior design services, training and education programs, marketing support for our clients, a strong after sales service. I believe the expertise of the company and the reliability of the brand in the world of sports have made the difference and it makes us very proud.
WNIF: What can we look forward to seeing from Technogym in 2016?
2016 will mark Technogym’s sixth Olympics, in August, in Rio: we will supply 1,000 pieces of equipment along with Mywellness Cloud to allow athletes an unprecedented personal training experience.
In March, we will host the third edition of Let’s Move for a Better World charity campaign, with more than 500 clubs worldwide involved in fighting childhood obesity.
Finally, in regard to new products, I can anticipate that 2016 will mark another milestone with the launch of some unique pieces for professional and high performance training, starting from SkillMill, our new functional treadmill.
