Women’s Health & Fitness Summit Invites New Presenters To The Platform

The Women’s Health & Fitness Summit supports, nurtures and promotes new presenters.

Building on last year’s success, we are again offering The Platform opportunity, which is again proudly sponsored by Australian Fitness Network.

The Platform is an opportunity for new presenters to get a leg up into the speaking circuit. CEO Mish believes that the only way we can bring more attention to women’s health is to create a new wave of inspiring presenters.

“In the age of the TED talk, it is simply not acceptable to read from a Power Point. An audience wants to be entertained. They want to be inspired. If we want women’s health on the agenda, then our presentations have to be at the highest level to get the speaking opportunities and to ultimately deliver our key messages”, she says.

The Platform is an opportunity for four new presenters to be mentored by one of the industry greats, Marietta Mehanni. They also receive a professionally filmed copy of heir presentation and feedback on how to write applications, thus allowing them to apply for other professional speaking gigs. Their 20-minute presentation has to be polished to the point of no notes, and are not allowed to stand behind a lectern.

In 2015, The Platform delivered four inspiring presentations. The audience was impressed and now each of the presenters have been invited back to present a full session at this year’s WHFS.

Christy Collier says of her experience, “Being a presenter on The Platform was an absolutely wonderful experience. Not only did I receive amazing coaching which enabled me to develop my presentation content and skills, I met and worked with the other Platform presenters who were truly amazing and inspiring women. The Platform has also opened doors for me to present in other arenas, and has even generated a business opportunity. I would encourage all women who are interested in presenting to apply. The possibilities are endless.”

Carol Archer adds, “My experience as a presenter on The Platform at the WHFS 2015 was quite possibly the most terrifying, and yet most exhilarating experience of my professional life. Looking back now, I wonder why I was so terrified, when right from the outset and throughout our journey, the support; encouragement and mentoring we received was amazing.  At the Summit we were so warmly welcomed by Mish’s team, our mentor Marietta Mehanni, the key presenters, and our audience alike… I think everyone was willing us to succeed!  And to my fellow Platform presenters… I felt absolutely honored to share the same stage with you all… a memory I will forever cherish.”

The Platform drives enormous traffic to our event, as it is completely unique to any other formal conference.

The Women’s Health and Fitness Summit will be held at the beautiful RACV Club 501 Bourke St, Melbourne on the 10 & 11 September 2016.
