Tough Mum Set for Spartan Race World Championships

Renowned “mummy trainer”, author and founder of ‘Body Beyond Baby’ and ‘Tough Mums’, Jen Dugard, recently led her team of 20 fit mums, through a gruelling, wet and wild obstacle race: the Tough Bloke Challenge.

After three weekends of obstacle racing, including Urbanathlon (5th placing), Spartan Race Brisbane (3rd placing) and finishing first in the recent elite competition and third overall, Jen also claimed a spot in the first ever Australian Obstacle Racing team, which will take on the Spartan Beast Race in Vermont (USA) in September this year.  The team was announced and she joins one of only five women selected to train for the 21km, 25+ obstacle event.

The owner of Sydney’s largest “mum only” exercise company and author of ‘How to love your body as much as your baby’, Dugard has developed a winning formula for helping mums to achieve things they never thought possible after having babies and lead many of them to be in the best shape of their lives and she is clearly leading by example.

“To be chosen to represent Australia in obstacle racing at a global level is a very exciting opportunity for me. I am passionate about helping mums achieve not only their best bodies, but also their personal goals and as a result a happy family; this is an example of how hard work pays off.”

With a specialist coach and nutritionist on board for the event organised by the Obstacle Racing Association of Australia, Jen is looking forward to a challenging 11 weeks of training and is now on the look out for both personal and team sponsors to help take as many Aussie’s selected as possible to Vermont to make Obstacle Racing history.
