The Star Welcomes Footy Fever

The Star in conjunction with Hyundai and Four Four Two launched the Hyundai Fan Park Sydney – a stadium style live-site to view the full calendar of up and coming football action live from Brazil.

The Star’s state-of-the-art Event Centre and 24/7 Sports Bar will provide the very best venue space in Sydney for fans to share all the excitement and glory of one of the world’s most watched sports.

Media, sponsors and special guests where treated to a true Brazilian experience in The Star’s 24/7 Sports Bar, just one of the locations where the action of the World Cup will be telecast LIVE from Brazil. Colourful Brazilian dance troupe, La Fiesta, football jugglers and a Brazilian buffet gave guests a taste of ‘the thrill of Brazil’ coming to the Star!

Andy Paschalidis, former football player and media personality joined the launch, Paschalidis will be hosting various matches at Hyundai Fan Park Sydney along with Mark Rudan and various football stars including Paul Okon, Nick Carle and David Carney.

Richard Howarth, General Manager Marketing, Sales & Entertainment for The Star welcomed the guests, “We are very excited to announce our partnership with Hyundai and Four Four Two as The Star transforms two of our popular venues – The Star Event Centre and our 24/7 Sports bar – into the Hyundai Fan Park Sydney.”


“The Star will be the most exciting place for fans to cheer on their teams throughout the tournament. All 64 matches will be shown live in the 24/7 Sports Bar as well as all the Australia Games, Semi Finals and Finals telecast live in The Star Event Centre.“


“Over 2,500 people will be treated to a full stadium experience with free entry and live entertainment.” continued Mr Howarth.
