Katie Dickens Dance Barre Bounces To New Heights

Dance Barre opened in June this year and has already seen huge success in Brisbane. More than just a barre studio, Dance Barre offers dance-inspired workouts that are like no other in Brisbane and allow you to get fit the fun way.

Starting out with just Katie Dickens herself teaching eight classes a day, the studio now employs four trainers and offers around 13 classes per day to cater for the growing number of members.

Dance Barre has also undergone layout changes, introducing a second studio space at their Albion location to allow for increased class sizes.

Owner and founder Katie Dickens, said that the response has been overwhelming.

“We knew we had a unique product and we felt it would go well, but we didn’t expect to reach over 4,500 check ins per month within 90 days of opening. That was more of a 12 month goal for us. We’ve also got clients traveling up to 45 minutes to come take class with us. I love providing a product that is in such demand,” Katie said.

Due to the success of the first Dance Barre studio in Brisbane, there are also talks for more locations in the pipeline.

“Part of our new 12 month goal is to have opened our second studio space. We’re currently scouting locations and are excited to let the Gold Coast know they will be most likely to get Dance Barre next! Our 5 year goal is to have this in every capital city on the east coast of Australia as well as Auckland. I want everyone to have the opportunity to workout in a fun, positive and supportive environment.”

With over 4,500 check ins per month, classes waitlisted weekly and an online demand for studios and access to classes Australia wide, Katie is set to launch ‘Katie Dickens Online’ this January.

For a small monthly subscription fee, Katie Dickens Online will provide a video platform for people to access Katie’s method from anywhere in the world.

Katie said that there has been an increasing demand for her workouts online for those who can’t make it into the studio.

“Filming my workouts and delivering an online viewing platform has always been a goal of mine. I want to give everyone the chance to enjoy my workouts, whether you’re travelling for work, on holiday or our studios just aren’t close enough, we want you to have the opportunity to workout wherever you are.”

Katie Dickens Online will also see some exciting new additions in the coming year. Think skincare, activewear, custom fitness accessories and more!

Katie Dickens Online will be up and running as of January 2017.
