How many times have you put off an exercise workout because it’s raining or just too hot outside? Maybe running on a treadmill is just too hard on your joints? Perhaps you don’t like exercising on your own? Indoorwalking classes are the latest fitness craze taking the USA by storm and they are coming to Perth, Australia in November 2013.
What is Indoorwalking?
Indoorwalking is a low impact group cardiovascular fitness class led by fully qualified trainers and routines are accompanied by music to help keep you motivated. Participants use a specially designed elliptical cross trainer called an Indoorwalker that simulates walking at different speeds and tracks, including shifts in gradients so it’s just like the real thing only indoors and out of the elements.
What are the key benefits of Indoorwalking?
There are six main benefits to Indoorwalking:
1. Low impact on joints means a safe, low injury risk workout
2. Burn more calories by engaging your upper and lower body
3. Suitable for all ages from kids through to seniors
4. Use your natural walking movement with less fatigue
5. Programs simulate a real walk with 5 levels of resistance including flat surfaces, downhill, small mountains and more
6. Each class is fun and engaging with music and an instructor to talk you through the workout
