New Quality Accreditation Program Raises Industry Standards

Wednesday 25th July, SYDNEY, Australia

Fitness Australia today announced their Quality Accreditation Program is now open for gyms, fitness centres, fitness businesses and clubs in Australia.

This initiative is the first of its kind and provides assurance to consumers and industry that accredited fitness businesses are professional and committed to providing quality service, customer care and meeting industry standards.

“The primary aim of the Quality Accreditation Program is to ensure consistent standards and service delivery are met, and where possible exceed customer expectations.” said CEO Bill Moore.

“We are thrilled to launch this exciting initiative, we’re confident that businesses who participate will become a provider of choice and their members can feel assured they are receiving the best care and quality service.”

Supported by the Fitness Industry National Quality Framework’s six pillars, the program leads businesses through the accreditation process, which includes multiple modules designed to assess, identify and assist businesses in reaching the industry framework.

There are four modules in total and all businesses that take part must provide evidence of compliance relating to areas such as:

Fitness Australia - National Quality Framework - Six Pillars

  1. professionalism
  2. safety
  3. customer care
  4. information and knowledge
  5. people
  6. leadership

To ensure the highest standards are met, the program takes a multilayered approach to reviewing and assessing each business. This includes a self-assessment, customer feedback and the involvement of an independent quality assessment team who provide constructive feedback on making improvements.
