World champion sailors and Olympic gold medal favourites, Mat Belcher and Will Ryan have jumped on board to be powered by wellbeing brand, Blackmores.
The sailing champions have been named as Blackmores “Well Being’s” and will work with brand over the next two years including their training in the lead up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro.
Blackmores Managing Director Dave Fenlon said the Blackmores Well Being Program is a comprehensive partnership that will benefit both the sailors and the general community.
As part of their Well Being duties, Belcher and Ryan will also represent Blackmores at various community and sporting events and promote Blackmores Be a Well Being campaign and newly launched exercise range.
Fenlon said Belcher and Ryan were a natural choice because of their commitment to elite sports as well as their passion for general wellbeing in everyday life.
“Blackmores is committed to supporting people on their path to wellbeing and recognise sport and fitness can be an area of this,” Fenlon said. “The Blackmores Well Being Program is about working in partnership with sporting, health and community leaders to promote holistic wellbeing for all.”
“We are proud to be associated with Mat and Will. They are true Olympians and true gentlemen who genuinely live according to the principles of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, the foundations of the Blackmores Be a Well Being philosophy.”
“Mat and Will are an inspiration to the community and will help us empower Australians to adopt the core principles of being a well being by sharing their physical and mental secrets to personal and Olympic success.”
“Blackmores is excited to be associated with such accomplished sportsmen and we look forward to working with Mat and Will during their training regime for Rio 2016. We will be supporting them every step of the way on their quest for gold!”
London Olympic gold medallist, Mat Belcher said the Blackmores Well Being Program is a natural association for the sailors.
“Blackmores epitomises optimum wellbeing and as athletes we strive for ultimate performance on both a personal and a professional level,” Belcher said. “Wellbeing and balance are vital to all pursuits in our life. It’s integral to helping us perform, to recover, to refocus – it’s about actually being a well being!”
Will Ryan said Blackmores will support the team with health education, guidance and supplementation which will be incredibly important for our success – especially as we come towards Rio 2016.
“We are very excited to have access to the vast knowledge of the Blackmores team,” Ryan said. “In sport, being the best you can be is essential. Blackmores is backed by exceptional research and testing. We look forward to working with them to achieve peak physical performance in the lead up to the Olympics.”
