Since February 2017, Life Fitness has been proudly supporting the School of St Jude in Tanzania, Africa, via ongoing sponsorship of students, teachers, boarding rooms and a bus called Light Pink!
The School of St Jude provides free education to over 1,800 students from Tanzanian communities, and keeps more than 450 locals in a job, as staff. Its mission is to educate disadvantaged, bright students from the Arusha District, to become moral and intellectual leaders in their country, and for St Jude’s to, thereby, demonstrate educational leadership in Tanzania.
Financial sponsorship and various purchases such as a new generator for the school; donated by Life Fitness, helps ensure students have boarding with warm beds, uniforms, showers, hot meals and light to study.
It also helps teachers remain hard-working and committed; ensures the school’s curriculums can be updated as required; and ensures a safe, clean living environment with reliable electricity and water – everything required for a successful education!
Donations are also responsible for keeping the school’s fleet of 24 animal-themed buses on the road, ensuring they are capable of safely delivering students, teachers, business staff and volunteers where they need to be, seven days a week!
Like the School of St Jude, Life Fitness is steadfastly committed to truly making a difference, by fighting poverty through education, and our involvement with this school is easily one of our proudest contributions from the past 20 years.
