The Australian Adventure Festival (AAF) has officially launched the event categories for the 2015 festival and it includes some big challenges!
100km distances will lead the sports of mountain biking and trail running, and a two-day stage race will headline the adventure racing category, and the festival as a whole. To be held in East Gippsland, Victoria, AAF is where the worlds of adventure sport will meet in one ultimate festival.
Mountain biking, trail running, paddling and adventure racing are the sports which will fill the program for the inaugural AAF. Each sport with an ultra-distance (excluding paddling at 40km), as well as a more accessible distance, allowing adventurers of all levels to take part. The kids have not been forgotten either, with a Paddle Treasure Hunt event and a Kid’s Mountain Bike event.
The mountain biking event descriptions state that you will have ‘to create your own path at times,’ the trail running events tell you to expect ‘to familiarise yourself with the sounds of nature,’ the paddling events state they will ‘take you to where salt water meets fresh water’ and the adventure racing events promise ‘plenty of surprises.’ All of this while exploring the natural wonders East Gippsland has to offer.
Event categories and descriptions are now available on the AAF website, with registration being launched on 17 April. Adventurers can register their interest online.
